Here's what some of the people at soulspace hope we are:

. . . man, I don't know what soulspace is to me yet, or at all but I've been thinking plenty about it. It's comfortable, and it's different and it's uncomfortable. I don't know - I guess because I feel already that I'm being stretched by it and I don't know where to. But I've been thinking and thats good. Oh, and the people are really nice.

. . . the power of more than one

. . . a place where church feels integrated into my life – not a separate place I go

. . . a place where I am held accountable for who I am both inside and outside the community

. . . a place where whatever my current discomfort level is with religion, I won’t be restricted in my freedom to be in relationship with my creator.

. . . a place the beauty of the world’s many spiritual practices are embraced

. . . a place where we look into each others eyes as we journey through the worship of and the discovery about God

I want to be accepted for being myself – the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful

I want to heal so that I can love others into healing

I want to be real and comfortable being who I am

I want to have fun!

a community that allows me and helps me to encounter Christ

a community that draws people into the worship of God using all the senses, learning styles, visual and performing arts

a community that doesn't have all the answers

a community that prays with and for people

. . . a place where people feel free to share

a place where people of different religious backgrounds, and at different places in their spiritual development, feel welcome and challenged – a place where I could invite my friends

… a place where people feel welcomed not just during “worship” but, like, a drop-in centre – for teens, clay workshops, computer stuff, 9 ball table, music, ballet, open studio life drawing . . .

. . . a safe place of welcome and belonging where we engage and hear each other as we journey in the Christian faith and in relationship with Jesus Christ

. . . a place where I am me and my questions, doubts and discoveries are welcomed

. . . a place where the arts flourish and worship is an experience through which we are connected to and responsive to God
