We are an emerging Christian community experiencing the love and dreams of God and living in the way of Jesus Christ.
Christian community
We desire to be a community that shares life with one another in a way that we become a living, breathing, local expression of the global, historical body of Christ. We are a spiritual community rooted in the Christian Scriptures. Our community exists wherever the people of soulspace find themselves. In this way, our Christian lives are not limited to what we officially do in our meeting space, but are expressed through our lives.
Loving and serving God and neighbour
Our belief is that God intends Christianity be a way of life which sends us into the world to serve God and our neighbours, so that God's kingdom is both anticipated and lived in the here and now.
Living in the way of Jesus
We understand that living in the way of Jesus is not merely limited to a one time event in a person’s life, but an invitation to a life-long journey of transformation through the Holy Spirit.
Our Dreams
Churches in our community and around the globe are doing wonderful things. Their ministries are an inspiration to us in the creation of soulspace. Many of the dreams articulated here were born from many of these churches. We desire for our dreams to reflect who we seek to be as soulspace.
We dream of a church where:
* People are deeply connected to God in all of life; body, mind, soul and spirit
* People are welcomed where they are in their spiritual journey
* We serve and are connected to the community of Stratford
* We value, are connected to, are dependent on, and serve the global Church
* Peoples' visions and ideas of ministry come to life and everyone is equipped to minister to each other
* Culture is met, embraced and transformed
* We listen for and are responsive to God’s spirit
* Beauty, art, creativity and innovation are valued; an essential part of our worship & life, and understood as coming from the Creator
* Joy, fun and excitement are part of our lives
* Worship of God is full, vibrant, real, and pleasing to God
* Questions of faith are lived with and welcomed
* We learn the ways of God and are encouraged to make them central to our lives
* The Biblical story of God is told and contributed to
* We seek to become radical followers of Jesus Christ
* Jesus' invitation and example to live a life of peace, reconciliation, & non-violence is sought in all our relationships
* God's Spirit takes precedence over all structures and systems
